My delivery device went sliding across the seat and fell on the floor and I received a Device Manipulation event. Why?

Screen touches, such as viewing or sending a text or email, swiping a notification closed, answering an incoming or placing an outgoing phone call, or listening to a voicemail while you are actively driving will count as Device Manipulation/Distraction event.
Bluetooth/Hands-free Phone calls
Device movement while you are actively driving, such as holding the device in your hand or movement in a bag on the seat or floor will be captured as a Device Manipulation/Distraction event. Device Manipulation/Distraction events will negatively impact your FICO® Safe Driving Score.
Any interaction with the device while the vehicle is in motion is captured as a Device Manipulation or Distraction Event. That’s because any form of phone use – including at stoplights – is one of the most dangerous behaviors while behind the wheel.
Remember, your FICO® Safe Driving Score represents a rolling 7-day average, so you always have a chance to improve on your score with each new Route.
TIP: Incoming calls, emails, or texts/notifications while driving will not count as a device manipulation if you do not respond to them.
